Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Remote Medical Scheduler to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating patient appointments, managing physician schedules, and ensuring a seamless experience for patients across various clinical settings. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, can work independently, and is experienced in medical scheduling or administrative healthcare roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls, emails, or online requests to schedule, reschedule, or cancel patient appointments.

  • Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to optimize provider schedules.

  • Verify and update patient information, including insurance and medical history, in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

  • Confirm appointments and provide patients with necessary pre-visit instructions.

  • Follow up with patients regarding referrals, authorizations, or pre-certifications as needed.

  • Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.

  • Manage high call volumes with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency.

  • Document all interactions and scheduling changes accurately and in real time.

  • Assist with troubleshooting scheduling conflicts or patient concerns.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Reliable internet connection and quiet home workspace

Preferred:

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English or other languages)

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes

  • Experience working remotely
