Position Purpose:

At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center the Outpatient Infusion Registered Nurse RN specializes in administering medications and fluids through intravenous (IV) lines .

What You Will Do:

• Infusion nurses administer medications fluids and blood products directly into patients veins closely monitoring them for reactions and complications during and after infusions.

• Vascular Access Device (VAD) Management: This includes inserting maintaining and removing various types of IV lines such as peripheral IV lines central lines and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC lines).

• They educate patients and caregivers about the infusion process potential side effects and home care if needed.

• Infusion nurses work with a team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required :

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associates degree in Nursing.

• Valid RN license in the state of Connecticut.

• Ideal candidates will have 1 year of experience in IV Infusion or Ambulatory Infusion sites which is highly preferred.

Preferred :

• Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN).

• Consideration will be given provided the expertise includes two or more years of medical/surgical nursing experience in an acute inpatient setting.

• BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) certification support available post-hire.

Position Highlights:

Full-Time 32 hours/week - Day Shift.

• No weekends or holidays required.
