Medical Laboratory Technician Job Description This position requires a medical laboratory technician who is comfortable working across various clinic locations, including Ames, Story City, and Nevada Family Practice. The role involves performing lab tests under CLIA-88, drawing blood, interpreting microscope results, and collecting specimens. Responsibilities + Perform lab tests classified under CLIA-88. + Draw blood and ensure proper specimen collection. + Interpret results using a microscope. + Float between clinic locations in Ames, Story City, and Nevada Family Practice as needed. Essential Skills + Experience in medical laboratory technology. + Proficiency in lab testing and clinical testing. + Associate degree in medical laboratory technology or completion of a recognized course in Clinical Laboratory Technology. + Certification or eligibility for certification as MLT (ASCP) or equivalent. + Work Environment The work schedule is Monday through Friday with hours ranging between 7:30am and 5:30pm. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
