The California Department Fish and Wildlife's Northern Region~Coastal Fisheries unit based in Weaverville has four openings for Fish and Wildlife Seasonal Aids. You could assist a team of scientists with the Klamath and Trinity Project working to evaluate salmon and steelhead abundance. You could sample adult salmon and steelhead with weirs and spawning surveys, and also work collecting the biological data from salmon at Department hatcheries. You would become an expert at species identification while learning the field methods and science of salmonid management. This is a great position for those who want to work outdoors and hands-on in fisheries biology.

The Fish and Wildlife Seasonal Aid classification is a non-testing classification.

Special Physical Characteristics:
Physical strength and agility; ability to lift 40 pounds; ability to swim 50 yards and stay afloat at least five (5) minutes.
