Job Description and Duties

Plan, organize, review, direct, and supervise the work of enforcement personnel. Manage division administrative operations including training, academy, field officer training program FTP and equipment. Maintain and establish coordination with Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST). Coordinate enforcement activities by representing the Assistant Chief on various Division committees, boards and commissions. Manage and track the following Law Enforcement Programs and Budgets: Training, Academy, Equipment, and Field Training Program (FTP); work closely with the Department’s Office of Training and Development (OTD). Serve as Law Enforcement training academy Director.

Manage the POST Basic CDFW Academy and staff assigned to the training division. Develop and revise law enforcement policy for statewide implementation as prescribed by legislation, court precedence, POST, and department requirements. Maintain and manage records including POST, legislative, department, and division requirements for training requirements. Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate contracts for public services associated with Division training programs and field operations. Track and prepare Use of Force Incident report (USRUS) to California Department of Justice (DOJ).

This position may be filled in the following counties: Sacramento, Yolo, Sutter, Yuba, Placer, Colusa, Glenn, Butte, and Tehama

This position requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License. Must maintain a clean driving record. The selected candidate may be required to provide a photocopy (front and back) of the license: Name as stated on the license, issuing state, DL #, Class, expiration.
